This is quick to assemble using store-bought cake and chocolate sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 slices (1 inch/2.5 cm thick) 2slices (1 inch/2.5 cm thick)pound cakepound cakes
- 16 16Strawberries
- 1/3 cup 1/3cupwhipping cream
- 2 tsp 2tsporange-flavoured liqueur, optional
- 1/4 cup 1/4cupchocolate sauce
Preparation
Cut cake into 12 cubes. Alternately thread strawberries and cake onto each of 4 soaked wooden skewers. (Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.)
Place skewers on greased grill over medium heat; close lid and grill, turning once, until marked, about 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, whip cream; stir in liqueur (if using). Serve with skewers. Drizzle with chocolate sauce.
Additional information : Variation
Strawberry Dulce de Leche Shortcake Skewers: Replace chocolate sauce with dulce de leche or caramel sauce. Replace liqueur (if using) with rum.
