told my son we now have TV again and now I will start knitting more. I knit while I have it on for some unknown reason I do my best knitting then.
He mentioned a sweater I knitted years ago for him and asked if I could knit him a sweater with a hood. He wants it 100% wool which I am allergic to but what the heck he is a great son.
He works as a welder so wool burns less easily so lasts longer with fewer scorch marks.
He needs it custom made since he is 6'3" long arms and when he buys a sweater he says they are all made for fat men. so when he puts his harness over it there is lots of bunching and that isn't safe or comfortable.
Does anyone know where I can find a pattern for a pullover sweater in bulky or chunky wool.
I knit plain no cable or patterns. I have sweater patterns just none with a hood.
any help would be appreciated.
I have tried the patons site and they only have a cardigan jacket with a hood.

I found a pattern at the Lion Brand website for a mens hooded sweater.

The recommended yarn is not wool but it is a bulky. I'm sure you could use wool. Most knitting store clerks - as you may know - are well versed in substituting yarn.

I hope this helps.

thank you it is perfect.
and yes wool will be perfect.
I used to own a wool store so I got good at substituting.
I did bluff quite often but all who shopped there were happy.

Great.
I've just decided I will make one for my DH once I have finished the wool sweater I am knitting for myself. First sweater ever for me so we'll see how it turns out. May be my last, who knows. So far not too bad.
Happy knitting!
