It's easy to forget our skin is an organ made of living cells - cells that can be irreversibly damaged or killed if we are not careful. Many products on the market today claim to help improve the look and condition of our skin, however some may have the exact oppsite effect.

HYDROQUINONE is a chemical normally used in skin lighteners such as scar repair and bleaching creams.

The FDA has issued a warning for consumers to avoid creams containing HYDROQUINONE, as they can cause a skin disease called ochronosis, with "disfiguring and irreversible" blue-black lesions that in the worst cases become permanent, intensively black bumps the size of caviar all over the skin.

Another consideration when selecting creams, make-up or anything else you intend to put on your skin is PARABENS - used as a preservative in cosmetics.

I make it a habit to not purchase the item if it lists parabens on the ingredients list. While it states on Wiki that parabens are safe and are 'absorbed, metabolized, and excreted' they have been found in breast tumors which leads one to deduce that there is some damage being done in the proces of absorption and metabolization.

I hope everyone is checking ingredient lists on everything that has one, and also buying certified organic whenever possible.

It still effective to used natural products for our skin. I used home made remedy like oils for reducing wrinkles. Take drops of oils such as sandalwood, geranium, rosewood, rose jasmine, neroli, and frankincense. Mix these oils with primrose oil or some other oils which you feel you can use as a base oil to make a natural anti wrinkle lotion. It's quite effective and safe for our skin. We can save money and we don't need to worry because it's natural.
