Hey Gabby, this is Craziecookie north of Toronto. I noticed your name and I had to write back! It turns our that the four kittens born in my living room two years ago, one of which is now Darth Vader, were originally called Abby, Libby, Tabby and yes, Gabby. They were all so adorable.
By the time they were over a month old, they were climbing door screens, getting into garbage and just being absolutely annoying--all the time. So, I changed their names to Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub and Mephistopheles (a devil from the Faust legend.) You can appreciate why--they were monsters! |

My fur baby (11 year old German Shepherd) is named Hydro. 11 Years ago we moved to a place with very few natural lakes or rivers. I had grown up and lived all my life around the Great Lakes so I really missed the water that I had previously taken for granted. Hence, we we got our boy he was named Hydro and... I never take him for granted. |

| my dogs official name is Duke but we call him so many different things as "pet" names that he comes to all of them. It started that we would call him our puppy dog duke. When i paid attention to him as a puppy i would say "how is my puppy dog?or Little buddy?" now he answers to varies of those like PupPup, pupperdoggers, buddy or buddyboy among many others that have come up over the years. It's very convienent to get him to come when i call although he's such a good dog that most of the time i can't even get the word come finished before he trots over the see why I called him. |

Our cat's name is Teddy. We got him from our local Humane Society about the time that American Idol contestant Reuben Studdard won. They used to refer to him as a big Teddy Bear. Made sense at the time!
Our recently departed dog's name was Billy. The breeder's young son named all of the pups in the litter Billy - after the blue power ranger. It just seemed to fit. His "real" name was Nyroca's Nautical Bill. Now he's just my angel. |

| My cat's name is Baldwin. He's a silver shaded persian & he use to belong to my eldest son. He was given to me because when my son & daughter-in-law sent me a ticket to join them for Christmas in Edmonton, Baldwin decided he would rather like to sleep on my bed every night instead of going into the basement with them. So when it came time for them to move from her mothers home to their own & they couldn't take him with them they asked her uncle if he would bring him on the plane with him when he returned to Ontario. So you see this is really a case of him choosing me & I'm so glad he did. |

I have had 5 cats over my life time so far. My first was a gray and white short hair I named Krista at the age of 8 as that was my best friend in elementry school. We then got a small pure white kitten. He fit into the pocket on the front of my dad's dress shirts. We named him Homer after the Simpsons. Krista lived to the rip old age of 20. Homer passed at 9 years from diabetes. Later came our little demon. Xander named after a character off Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is now 10 and lives with my parents as mom could not part with him when I moved. They also have Abby who adopted us. She was found on our steps in January at -42C. Mom named her so I wouldn't name her anything "strange". I call her Abbasinia. My new addition in my new house is Digit so named as she is a polydactil cat. She has 1 extra toe on each of her back paws and 2 extras on each of her fronts. She is so cute, it looks like she is wearing mittens. |

One cat is Harley - she is black and orange with a LOUD purr that starts and stops and sputters along. Kinda like the motorcycle.
Our other cat is a seal point siamese. We named her CoCo - after Coco Chanel. CoCo is quite a diva so the name fits (with apologies to Ms Chanel!). |

We have 2 dogs, a cocker spaniel named Bailey, and a Jack Russel/Shih Tzu named Jake. Bailey was already named and we got him when he was 9 months old. Jake we got when he was 2 months old, and he is named after my grandfather.
We also have 5 cats, Sascha, who came with that name, Misty who was born at our house by a friend's cat, Bandit who was a stray the neighbour kids brought home and then were not allowed to keep. They brought him to our house and he stole my heart, hence the name. We didn't quite get Bandit and Misty fixed soon enough and they had 2 kittens. The little neighbour boy named the kittens, Pip and Squeak.
I cannot imagine a life without my fur babies. Each one has their own distinct personality. |

I have two cats....Lady Guinevere, she believes she is a princess...and Arthur...it just fit with the Lady, however, Arthur has become Stupid Arthur as he wrecked the blind in the dining room, broke my favorite candle holder, destroyed two new bath sheets, etc.etc.etc. When my husband would ask who did it... the kids replied.... Stupid Arthur.. so it stuck.
We also have a year old goldendoodle named Dickens. As he is "Cute as the Dickens" |
