Hey guys
I've tried out this recipe, found it a bit hard because of the measurements (I so prefer grams over cups or ml), and in the end, my dough was just tiny little flakes that would not combine, I had to add an extra egg just to have a workable dough.
Anyone else had this problem or know what could have caused it?
(cookies were yummy!) |

Hey!
So I’ve spoken with some of the ladies in the test kitchen and they’ve informed me that they’ve used and tested this recipe many times and haven’t had problems with it. When I explained what had been happening when you made your cookies they had a couple theories as to why the dough was flaky and wouldn’t combine...
1st – this may have happened because the butter you were using wasn’t soft enough, popping it in the microwave for about 10secs really helps if it has come right outta the fridge.
&
2nd – To much flour. When measuring flour we always use a spoon to scoop the flour into our measuring spoons then take the flat back side of a knife to level off the top. If you scoop your flour with the measuring spoon you can accidentally end up with more flour then needed.
I hope this helps.
