This is my 2nd machine in about 2 years.
the first one started rising some days and coming out dead on others.
so it went to the basement and I now have a new one that makes loaves
that look like loaves.

my problem is that both machines made very dense bread.
I bought it for health reasons as the healthier breads were around $5. a loaf and when my husband takes sandwiches to work constantly it was getting really expensive.
Could anyone share a recipe for machines that would give a lighter airier loaf.

I haven't used my bread machine alot but one day I made a french loaf & it was so light & fluffy that it raised to the lid up against the glass! Doesn't the yeast make it fluffy?

Hi. I use my bread machine all the time. I make the multigrain breads with no problem at all. One thing I did find though is that bread machine bread is good only when fresh and warm...then soon gets dry. So I use the machine for the hard part...the mixing and then when it's on the second rise I take it from the machine, knead it a little bit then put it into prepared bread pans, let it rise again then bake it in the oven. I get nice healthy bread that's light and fluffy every time...and it's not dry. I'd be glad to share my recipe with you for multigrain bread. Reply if interested
