Top websites for coupons, deals and freebies

By Tudor Robins

Canadian Living has rounded up sites where you can find great deals.
Company coupons and grocery stores

There are two main types of coupon sites. The first are company sites, which use the Internet to offer coupons so you'll buy their product or use their service. The second are sites that function as online savings communities. You can visit occasionally to check out the deals or get really involved -- offering advice, reviewing products and swapping coupons with other members.

Company coupons
If you've never been a fan of using coupons, think again: the Internet has made things a lot easier. You no longer have to sort through heaps of coupons you'll never use to find the one or two you want. Now just browse, click and print and get only the coupons you need. Here are some sites to check out:

Dealstreet.ca
Deal hunters and casual shoppers are flocking to Dealstreet.ca. This shopping destination lets you  enjoy a range of deals, discounts, coupons (clipnsave.ca), online flyers and complementary content that can guide you through smart purchasing decisions. Bonus: All the content is category specific according to your location.

www.valpak.com
You may be familiar with the little blue envelope full of coupons that comes to your mailbox. Now you can go online, enter your postal code or city and bring up ValPak coupons for your location. Just print them off and use them as you shop.

Procter & Gamble
Browse for free samples, enter sweepstakes and, yes, get coupons. You can also sign up for a monthly newsletter featuring new samples, savings, contests and ideas.

Grocery stores
With many large companies jumping on the Internet coupon bandwagon it's worth checking their websites first for coupons, or flyers if it's a store you know you'll be shopping at. One good example: most large grocery store chains now offer flyers online. Some, like Loblaws and Sobeys, let you navigate directly to your favourite store to see its weekly specials.
