Cookie

From the Dutch koekje, meaning "little cake", a small flat confection, usually classified by its distinctive ingredient or by the way in which it is prepared. It is believed that the first batches of cookies were made in Persia in the 17th century, probably because Persia was one of the first countries to cultivate sugar.
