KahlúA

A coffee-flavored liqueur imported to the U.S. from Mexico in 1959 by Jules Berman. The oldest bottle on record is dated 1937, depicting a man wearing a turban and smoking a cigar, fueling the impression that Kahlúa is Arabic in origin. Following its export, the label showed a Mexican wearing a large sombrero. Although some of the liqueur is still made in Mexico using homegrown coffee beans, the Danish company Peter Heering also makes it under license in Europe.
