Lime Cordial

Also lime-juice cordial. A non-alcoholic, sweet-tart light syrup, made with lime juice and sugar, used in cocktails, such as the Gimlet. The well-known Rose's brand was created by a Scotsman of the same name, who introduced it in Edinburgh in the 1870s. The Royal Navy is given credit for familiarizing his brand around the globe.
