I'm certainly not a perfect eater (like, pass me that bag of chips), but there is a rule I always follow: eat breakfast everyday. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you may have heard, and skipping it can leave you feeling sluggish. Also, it could be why you're noticing your problem areas are becoming more, um, problematic. [caption id="attachment_1256" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="One of my fave, easiest breakfasts - homemade cereal and some fruit! "] [/caption] Here are 3 reasons why you should eat breakfast everyday 1. It will help you lose weight. Eating a healthy breakfast will help boost your metabolism, causing your body to burn more calories. If you don't eat breakfast, your body will hoard whatever fuel it has, slowing down the calorie-burning process. 2. It'll boost your energy. Nothing is worse than feeling like you have low energy. Getting through the work day is tough enough, so don't deprive your body of much needed nutrients. Your brain and body will be much slower to react if it's low on fuel (food = fuel, fyi). 3. It can be fun and tasty. If you're sticking to the same breakfast everyday, things will get boring pretty quickly. My fave breakfast is a delicious Toasted Apple Cinnamon Cereal (pictured above) from Brendan Brazier's The Thrive Diet. It fills me up for a while! I make it about once every two weeks and it takes all of 15 minutes to throw together. I also love tasty soft boiled eggs, avocado chocolate shakes (perfect for any chocolate-holic), oatmeal or any sort of homemade breakfast sandwich. Find what sort of healthy breakfast fits with your lifestyle and stick with it - once you see a few pounds dropping off you'll be happy. Do you eat breakfast everyday?
