Can you recommend exercises to help me bulk up my arms?
If you have a question for Michelle, or any of our other experts, please visit our Just Ask page.
If you're currently weight training regularly then you likely know a few exercises that will add mass to your arms. If you're doing them and not seeing results, you likely need to add more weight, change your exercises for variety, or resign yourself to the possibility that you may be genetically built to have smaller arms.
If you're not currently doing any resistance training, then there are literally hundreds of exercises you can do to work your upper body (and your arms in the process). I recommend an all-over body routine and not just arms, but a few good arm isolators include biceps curls, triceps extensions and shoulder lateral raises. Any other exercises that isolate biceps, triceps and shoulders will work your arm muscles. If you want to add bulk, lift heavier weights for shorter sets of 4 to 6 reps.
