"I had the weirdest dream last night..."
How many times have you started a conversation this way? And isn't it fun to guess what your dream might mean? Once a week, in CanadianLiving.com's "Ask the expert" section, I will help you understand yours! When you make sense of even your wackiest dream you'll be saying, "Of course I had that dream! It makes perfect sense!"
Did you know that we are problem-solving in our dreams? Well, we are. The dream is always about working out the solution to current issues in our lives. I teach people to de-code the meaning of a dream so that they can accomplish two goals: One is to attach the dream to a current, specific issue in their life; and two is to analyse the dream in order to recognize the solution to the problem or find the strength needed. The solution to your current issue or the strength you need to tap into, in order to help you through something, appears in the dream. You just need to know what to look for.
I reveal the interactive process of dream analysis through the dialogue between the dreamer and myself. Here's a sample analysis.
Rebecca's elegant party dream
I'm with my mother at an elegant party. Suddenly, all the men are dressed in black and their faces are covered. They have guns and begin shooting everyone! They hit my mom! And I'm shot in the head, but I live!
I run into the street looking for help, but can't find anyone and there's no phone anywhere. Suddenly I realize I have my cell phone right in my pocket!
