This was a busy week but a good week. On Monday it was back to teaching again and the students were really happy. For the whole week the classes gelled – it was great. Unfortunately from Monday to Thursday I went to work each night teaching a workshop. So it was tough on the kids – Tim had meetings too, thankfully my mom came and babysat for three nights and Tim was home on Tuesday. He took Haley to piano and dropped her off at Brownies. The boys were okay with just seeing me in the mornings. But now I don't have any significant evening bookings for months. Anyways that is just the nature of the consulting that I do – I have about 12 workshops a year max – it just happens that 5 were in the last three weeks. This is just me being on the defense – feeling guilty for working four nights in a row.
The workshop on Monday and Wednesday was a public speaking workshop. There were 7 high caliber athletes and I was a little nervous. The course was enjoyable and their speeches were amazing. Afterwards, the evaluations came back with great comments – I felt good and it just proves to me that I shouldn't loose my confidence in myself. Tuesday night was the AADAC/CODA Sport For Life orientation. It went well and it was a big relief to get that project nearing its final stages. Thursday I stayed at school finishing the ESL Report Card documentation. My mom came over again to babysit and Tim left for the airport – he had meetings in Toronto and Ottawa over the weekend. I got home in time to read with the kids and put them to bed. Then I stayed up until 4:30 am finishing and personalizing all of the cover sheets for each of the students.
Friday I was exhausted of course but I made it through the day – I taught in the morning and then we had a PD Day in the afternoon. I picked up the kids at Leisa's and we had a nice night at home, cuddling on the couch and watching videos. In the morning all three kids were in bed with me – watching cartoons while I kept sleeping – dozing off and on – still recovering from Thursday! We got ourselves moving though and drove across town for a hockey game for the boys. They played really well and the team won – Tate even had a break-a-way. Afterwards we drove to Heritage Park for a Brownie field trip. We watched a play – “Alice in Wonderland” which was pretty funny. Then we walked around the park and had a hay ride and sang Christmas carols – it was enjoyable. That night we hung around at home again and tried to put our gingerbread house together again. My mom bought it and put it together with the kids but it fell apart. We just had a nice quiet night at home after a great day together. On Sunday morning, I finished the laundry, cleaned the bathrooms and was just vacuuming when Sue arrived for a quick meeting. We needed to talk about the February 7th and 8th weekend that we have planned. We had a good catch up meeting and got some work done. The kids and I had lunch and then went to hockey practice. After that Cori and Cami came over and we went tobogganing for a while. We had our nice little evening and then it was off to bed. I have a whole bunch of work for University but I needed the weekend to just be with the kids. Haley and I were working on a Christmas song book – that we were downloading from the web and pasting into Word. Haley was doing lots herself and really moving around the computer. She was very proud of herself. All in all in was a good weekend.
