1. Protein


A good source of protein is absolutely essential in any smoothie that is being consumed as a meal. Throwing in one to two scoops of high-quality protein powder is a great option. I prefer using vegan blends, such as Vega One or Sunwarrior, because they are super-easy for your body to break down and digest. Another protein option would be an all-natural yogurt—either Greek or plain—which will also give your smoothie a creamy texture.
