Give friends and family gifts that promote good nutrition and healthy eating.

If you like creating your own nutritious gifts, here are some ideas:

• Fill a large pasta pot with an assortment of different pastas, a cheese grater, and a few favourite recipes.

• Put lentils, beans, spices, and a couple of great soup recipes in a pretty soup tureen.

• Decorate a teapot and fill it with a variety of health-enhancing teas.

• Create a window herb garden that will provide fresh herbs all year round.

• Make up a gift basket of interesting mustards and vinegars, a great olive oil and some spices.

• Decorate an envelope and insert a gift certificate for a healthy-cooking class or a subscription to a nutrition newsletter.
