... on a brand new bike! This past weekend, I made an exciting – and expensive! –purchase. I went out and bought myself a brand new bike. My last bike was great. I had bought it used and rode it so so much. But it was a clunky, heavy mountain bike, and I decided it was time to get my hands on something lighter. This wasn't just an impromptu purchase, it was something I'd been thinking of doing for a while now. My good old bike did the trick - got me from point A to B without incident - but, I've signed myself up for something that might be over my head, and I needed to get a new bike for it. Next June, I'll be joining lots of people in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. It's a 200km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls, and all proceeds raised will go to the Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the top cancer research centres in the world. Cancer is a cause near and dear to my heart, as I'm sure it is for many of you, and this is something that I had planned to do this past June, but just couldn't get my act together. I'm both incredible excited and nervous about biking such a long distance and raising a whopping $2,500! Besides being able to bike 200km on a new, beautiful hybrid Devinci Liverpool (see the photo below and pretend it's dark blue), I can now get around the city even quicker than before. My bike-shopping advice to you: go check things out at the end of the season, because that's when bikes are on sale. I love a good sale! I'll keep you posted on my cycling training and fundraising efforts. Any tips you could pass along would be most helpful! Read more:How to buy a bike
