Crafty Weekend Plans
Hi friends, It's another beautiful day out there. In fact, if I couldn't see the passers-by in their coats and toques (not to mention the leafless trees), I'd almost think it was May, not March. In another time and place, my sister and I would celebrate a day like this – blue skies and sunshine and a hint of real warmth in the air – by hopping in the car and taking a drive on
Route 337, around
Cape George.
Good music on the radio, two steaming cups of tea from Tim Hortons at our sides, and sight of the ice starting to crack and drift away from shore...it makes me smile just to think about it! I won't be heading oceanward this weekend, though if I play my cards right I might get down to the edge of Lake Ontario. They're calling for more
sun and warm temperatures this weekend...
...it's hard not to like the looks of that forecast! I have to admit that if the weather's as good as they say it's going to be, my crafting might be the first thing to suffer – after all, it's hard to ignore the sunshine at this time of year. However, I did find some cute ideas that I wanted to share before the weekend. Check them out:
- This DIY Tuxedo T-Shirt download from How About Orange would be perfect for a low-key Oscar party, don't you think? Or maybe for not-so-casual-Friday?
- This tutorial on crockpot yarn-dyeing from do stuff! leethal blog has me thinking two things: Where can I get a crockpot and a whack of undyed yarn? and, Holy moly, I'm never drinking that [popular powdered drink mix for kids] again!
- Hmm, I like the sounds of Miko's Challenge – knitting your way through a pattern book (or magazine, etc.) in 2011. I'm a bit late to the party but maybe I'll stop at the bookstore on my way home and have a look at the knitting shelf.
