DIY Pearl-Tipped Tassel

  • Embroidery floss skeins
  • Gold metallic thread
  • Scissors
  • Split rings and clasps
  • Leather scraps
  • Pearl beads
  Here’s How:
  1. Wrap the entire skein of embroidery floss around all four fingers of one hand. Cut two 5-inch lengths of floss from the end. [caption id="attachment_12099" align="aligncenter" width="600"]The more you wrap, the fatter the tassel The more you wrap, the fatter the tassel[/caption]
  2. Tie one scrap in a knot through the top fold in the loop.knot1pearl
  3. Tie the second scrap length in a knot about ½ inch below the top knot.knot2pearl
  4. Snip the bottom loop threads.snippearl
  5. Feed a pearl through the top knotted threads.pearltippearl
  6. Wrap the metallic thread over the second knot a few times and knot. Trim ends. threadwrappearl2snipthreadpearl
  7. Thread the split ring or clasp (or both) through the top knotted scrap thread and knot. splitringpearlpearltipTada! Instead of a split ring, you could attach an earring finding to make the first of a cute pair of pearl tassel earrings!
