DIY ring bearer pillow

Remnant fabric and trim from your repurposed wedding dress can be used to sew a charming little heirloom pillow for your ring bearer to carry down the aisle.

You will need:
Silk fabric remnant
19 cm wedding dress ribbon trim
Polyfill
White thread
Pins

Note: Always begin and end your sewn seams with a few reverse stitches to reinforce.

Here's how to do it:
Step 1: Cut two squares of silk measuring 17 X 17cm (7.5 X 7.5 inches).

Step 2: Pin the ribbon trim 4 cm from one edge of the square on the right side of the fabric and sew into place.

Step 3: Layer the two squares right sides facing, pin and sew around, leaving a 5cm gap. Clip the corners and turn right side out.

Step 4: Fill with polyfill. Tuck raw seams of gap in, pin and hand slip-stitch closed.

Note: You may want to use a loose simple stitch (unknotted) to attach ring(s) to pillow for the trip down the aisle.
