You need:

Self-adhesive-backed craft foam, plain or glittered, in desired colours
Scrap card stock or bristol board
25 mm (1-inch) bar pin
15 x 23 cm (6- x 9-inch) piece white card stock
Pencil and markers
Scissors
Hole punch or tapestry needle
Craft glue and clear tape (optional)

To make:
1. With pencil, sketch heart shapes on paper backing of wrong side of craft foam. Using scissors, cut out.

2. On scrap of card stock, place hearts in desired arrangements. Trace around hearts with pencil; cut shape out of card stock. Peel paper backing from craft foam shapes and adhere to card stock shape.

3. Apply small amount of craft glue to pin back; centre and glue pin to card stock shape. If desired, secure pin to card stock with small piece of tape until glue has dried.

4. Fold white card stock rectangle in half, creasing fold. Using markers, write or draw desired message inside card. With hole punch, punch two holes in centre of card front, about 1 cm (1/2 inch) apart. Insert pin through holes and latch securely.

Designer's note: To make refrigerator magnets instead, use low-temperature glue gun to affix strong magnet to back of card stock shapes. Let glue dry completely before using magnets.
