Hi again, friends. Thanks so much for your enthusiastic participation in last week's March break giveaway-stravaganza! And now for something completely different (or, at least, a bit more grown up)... This week's prize is a copy of 1-2-3 Embroidery: Easy Projects for Elegant Living, by Ellen Moore Johnson. Granted, this book is not brand new (every once in a while an oldie-but-goodie finds its way into my hands) but the patterns and ideas are so fresh and simple that they're just as applicable now as they would have been when the book was published. There are instructions for adding a bit of embellishment to a throw pillow or blanket, directions for adding embroidered motifs to kitchen linens and curtains, and ideas to help you get started with that classic: monogrammed towels and pillowcases. Whether you're an embroidery pro who's looking for some fresh ideas, or a newbie with the needle, I think you'll enjoy this. I wish I'd had this book in February so that I could give it away for Embroidery Month, but apparently this month is National Crafting Month (who gets to decide these things? and don't they know that around here it's always Crafting Month?), so I say that it still applies.
