Aren't I the Cutest Critter in the West?

All Creatures Great and Small– but Who's the Fairest of Them All? All manner of critters roam the Canadian Rockies:   deer, mountain goats, big-horn sheep, elk,  bear...  It's a veritable Noah's Ark of animals. But then there are the smaller animals that just seem to slip off our traveller's radar and never make it into our iPhone galleries. If you're staying at the Cathedral Mountain Lodge, in Field, British Columbia, smack in the midst of Yoho and Banff National Parks, you'll want to keep your eyes peeled to the ground for these cute little guys: the great hoary marmot and the golden-mantled ground squirrel are frequently spotted by guests of the lodge. I'm putting the vote out to you: Which is the cutest? Post below! Great Hoary Marmot: "I know I'm the hunk of the Rockies. Just saying." Great Hoary Marmot ...or....   The Golden-mantled ground squirrel: "Pick me, pick me!" Godlen mantle ground squirrel Let the voting begin! Post below. Me? I'm leaning toward the marmot. He's got 'tude.
