If you ever want to know what's in the mind of a 6 year old boy, here's an example.  We were in the car driving to an after school activity.  We had just talked about moving to a bigger house and Baby Boy was looking out the window, lost in thought. BB: I like small houses.  You know why?  There aren’t as many rooms so you don’t need as much furniture and you can save money. After staring out the window for a while, he spoke again. BB:  I know where the end of the rainbow is.  It’s in Scotland. Me: Ireland. BB:  Ireland.  Why do the leprechauns hide their gold there in Scotland? Me: Ireland. BB:  Ireland.  Why? Me: It’s special. BB:  Can we go there? Me: Sure. BB:  How much gas will we need to drive there? Me: We need more than gas, it’s across the sea. BB:  How long would it take in a motorboat? Me: How big? BB: 5 engines. Me: 2 weeks. BB: Are there sharks there? Me: In Ireland?  No. BB: Jelly fish? Me: No. BB: Gators? Me: No. BB: Crocs? Me: No. Pinter pause. BB: Ok. Slightly smaller pause. BB: Mom, when we move, will you still be the best cook? I smile.  But before I can respond he bursts out with:   Want to see what this bird’s brain looks like?  It’s not disgusting or anything.
