Hurra, it's Christmas in Germany A reader contacted me last week asking about Christmas Market tours in Germany, and if there were any tour organizers who specialized in the Canadian market. Well, yes there is. And for anyone who isn't familiar with Christmas markets in Germany, they've been the rage for hundreds of years. Huge outdoor markets in major cities such as Cologne, Nuremberg, Dresden, Frankfurt, and Berlin attract hundreds of thousands of visitors –Canadians included – year after year. Insight Vacations offers a 9-day Christmas Market tour (departing Canada) that includes Nuremberg, 'the capital of Christmas," and some lesser-known cities (to us, at least) such as Rothenburg, and includes market tours as well as evening concerts, cultural tours and more Christollen (the Christmas cake recipe dating back to medieval times) than you can rightfully consume. If it's too late for this year, do check out our Bavarian Cookie Recipes developed by the Canadian Living Test Kitchen. Frohe Weihnachten from our house to your house!
