A co-worker brought this sweet little story to my attention first thing this morning. We share a love of feel good stories and she knew I would instantly fall in love with it. Thank you for getting my Monday started off right Simone.
"True friendship, like God's love, has no age, no limits, and, most important of all, it is everlasting." ---Alexander N. Cuenca
I immediately thought of this quote when I saw the special bond between 3 year old Emmett and his 89 year old WWII veteran neighbour, Erling. Friendship comes in all shapes and sizes and this has to be one of the sweetest ones I've ever seen.[HTML1] "They kind of bonded over the tomatoes in Erling's garden" says Emmett's mother, Anika. "Every time he saw me out there, he's come running over." says Erling. "Got any 'matoes?" Emmett would ask. They've been spending most days together ever since. It's been nearly a year. They draw, ride tractors and bikes, play ball and simply enjoy just being together. I loved everything about this little video and the special bond they have created. The most heartwarming part for me was when Erling cleared the snow off the pathway between his back door and Emmett's during the winter months. Cold weather wasn't about to keep these two apart.
"How much companionship the world has missed because people are told they 'can't' be friends with each other." ---UnknownThis is a story of one of life's most precious gifts...a pure, beautiful and heartfelt friendship. "I love him" says Emmett.
