Snowflake Pancakes

Don't all kids love pancakes?  And making pancakes into these fun "snowflake" shapes will definitely brighten up a dreary winter day. Cute, right? I like to keep things simple at lunchtime, so we found an easy pancake recipe from Canadian Living here{I left out the chocolate chips to cut down on sugar, and they were still delicious.} My little helper mixed the dry ingredients in one bowl, and the wet ingredients in another.  We mixed them together, and then divided the batter into two bowls.  We added blue food coloring to one of the bowls, and mixed the batter thoroughly.    Then, I cooked the pancakes and used a cookie cutter to cut a snowflake out of the middle of each pancake.  I put the blue snowflakes in the white pancakes and vice versa.    My boys said these were the best pancakes they have ever had.  Maybe next time {for a special treat} I will add the chocolate chips!  :-)
