Aloe vera

The easy-to-care-for aloe vera has been valued for centuries for its medicinal properties, with the gel inside its succulent leaves used to promote the healing of minor burns, cuts and scrapes. Keep an aloe plant on a sunny kitchen windowsill and simply break off a piece whenever you need its healing balm.

Rosemary
And rosemary, with its feathery leaves and spicy scent, is much more than just a savoury cooking herb. The scent from fresh-cut sprigs of rosemary can help with alertness and concentration, and can also be steeped in hot water to make a quick and invigorating tea. This is another easy plant to maintain, which will thrive in a sunny location with well-drained soil.
