Thank you for your article All about motion sickness ("Gotta Know," July 2009).

One simple remedy for this that was not mentioned is an eye test. As a child, I had constant problems when travelling, but those ended the moment I started wearing glasses. When I became an adult, the motion sickness recurred when I got a new pair of contact lenses. I replaced the prescription and the sickness stopped immediately.

I'm a school bus driver, and I had a child who regularly threw up on the way to school. I suggested to her parents that she have an eye test. The child was prescribed glasses and the motion sickness disappeared.

There are many motion sickness remedies available, but maybe an eye test should be considered as a first step.
