A huge thank-you to Lisa Bendall for the inspiration she provided to our Grade 5–6 class. After reading “50 Good Deeds” (December), we challenged ourselves to do one good deed a day for the 15 school days of the month. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to look beyond ourselves and reach out to others in our community. The satisfaction in making someone else happy always made us feel good.

Throughout the month we worked with seniors in the community and younger students in the school, did our siblings’ chores and shovelled snow for our parents and neighbours. We figured that if we were able to reach our goal, Ms. Bendall would be able to add 330 good deeds to her total. We significantly surpassed that number and would like to thank Ms. Bendall for helping to make our community a better place.
