I always look forward to reading "My Canada" at the end of the magazine, and I shed a few tears while reading Austen Gilliland's article, "The Road to Home." She eloquently put into words all my feelings I have I return home to Cape Breton in the summertime and on special occasions to visit family and friends.
I've lived in Ontario for 10 years now, but Cape Breton will always be home to me. I can completely related to the feelings of being embraced while being there - the fresh air, wide open fields, and beautiful lakes and beaches hold a very special place in my heart.
I always say that I return home to become "grounded" once again. It's a respite from the constant hustle and bustle of city life. Thank you for putting into words so many of the emotions that I experience when I return to Cape Breton.
