I have Canadian Living magazines from the early 1980s to the late 1990s. When I retired two years ago, I went through boxes of unread magazines to determine if I would reuse them. (When I started my own business, it became impossible to keep up my subscription.)
Going through the old magazines, it was very interesting to see the changes in cooking, clothing styles and health articles over the years. The amazing thing was the consistency in the quality of the magazines and how timeless many of the articles were. I just had to renew my subscription again.
Today I take time to read each monthly magazine and e-mail newletter, try many recipes and make additions to my CL Recipe Box. Susan Antonacci's "Opening Lines" is also one of my favourite reads each month. Thank you for sharing your memories of your dad's music (June). I too lost my dad in my teens, but I was surprised to find the music he loved to play and sing in my head and heart. I grew up with The Beatles, so his music did not interest me at all – or so I thought. A few years ago, when I listened to Rod Stewart's The Great American Songbook CDs for the first time, I was surprised to know the words to so many of the songs.
Keep up the great work on such a thoroughly enjoyable magazine and website.
