The journey of the Acadians

Acadian culture is alive and well in southwest Louisiana, which is a Mecca to Canadians who want to follow the footsteps of their ancestors, Les Acadiens. Expelled from L’Acadie (Nova Scotia and the surrounding region) in the 1700s, the Acadians made their way down the Mississippi to Louisiana, where they fostered a vibrant Cajun culture.
