The easiest way to slice perfect mushrooms:

My best tip is to use an egg slicer to slice fresh mushrooms. It makes the job faster, and because all the slices are consistent in thickness they cook evenly. Uniformly-sliced mushrooms are also more visually pleasing when serving sauteed mushrooms as a side dish or raw in a salad.
