My 10-year old girl has just decided she doesn't want to eat meat anymore. She doesn't think it's right that we kill animals to eat. I'm not sure where she has picked this up this idea, but I don't want to fight with her anymore. How do I handle this one? We are not vegetarian, and I am not anxious to cook a different meal for one person at the table.

There is a book called What, No Meat? What to do when your kid becomes a vegetarian by Debra Halperin Poneman and Emily Anderson Greene, published by ECW Press. It's new and might be useful for you. We will also be addressing this question in the April issue of Canadian Living magazine. There are also a ton of recipes we publish on a regular basis that are vegetarian - our Make-It-Tonights always have a vegetarian selection, and they are delicious enough for everyone in the family. And in our May issue we are currently developing a set of vegetarian dishes that will also be aimed at everyone in the family. --Catherine Gray, Web editor
