The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada can provide tons of information for keeping your family fit. Call 1-888-HSF-INFO or check them out at www.heartandstroke.ca.

The Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation is running a campaign to encourage kids to be more active. You'll find a number of useful ideas on their website: www.liveoutsidethebox.ca.

Health Canada offers a variety of free resources for families. These include the Family Guide to Physical Activity for Children and Gotta Move! Interactive Magazine for Children. You can also find tips for parents and caregivers and keeping kids active at www.hc-sc.gc.ca/english/media/releases/2002/2002_25bk2.htm.

Games Kids Play (www.gameskidsplay.net) offers rules for more than 250 childhood games -- the perfect place to find new games or solve how-to-play questions about old favorites.

The Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute has a terrific website which includes statistics on physical activity and tips for families. Check it out at www.cflri.ca.
