Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup 1/2cupoil
  • 2/3 cup 2/3cupsugar
  • 1 1eggeggs
  • 1 cup 1cupapplesauce
  • 1/4 cup 1/4cupsour cream
  • 1-1/2 tsp 1-1/2tspcinnamon
  • 1 tsp 1tspallspice
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2tspclovecloves
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2tspsalt
  • 1-1/4 tsp 1-1/4tspbaking soda
  • 1-3/4 cup 1-3/4cupflour
  • 1/2 cup 1/2cupapple butter
  • 1/2 cup 1/2cupwalnutwalnuts, chopped

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line 12 cup muffin pan with papers.

Combine oil, sugar, egg, applesauce and sour cream (all wet ingredients, except apple butter) in mixing bowl and stir thoroughly.

Measure cinnamon, allspice, cloves, salt, baking soda and flour (all dry ingredients, except nuts) into a separate bowl and stir to combine. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir with spoon until mixed together.

Place one spoonful of batter in each muffin cup. Top with a spoonful of the reserved apple butter. Top each muffin with remaining batter.

Sprinkle raw muffins with reserved chopped nuts.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Yields: 12 muffins.
