We make this sandwich at our cottage on the Big Rideau Lake. Using the BBQ to grill the sandwich keeps you out of the kitchen on those hot days and lets you mingle with the crowd on the deck while grilling. Serve with a Salad and you have a great Saturday lunch meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 slices smoked ham 3 slices smoked ham
  • 3 slices extra old Cheddar cheese 3 slices extra old cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices sour dough bread 2 slices sour dough bread
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Preparation

Preheat BBQ. Slice Sour Dough Bread to desired thickness. Butter 1 slice with Dijon Mustard. Add Sliced Ham and Cheddar. Top with second slice of Sour Dough. Brush top of sandwich with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Place on the BBQ Olive Oil side down. Brush unoiled slice of bread with Olive Oil. Close BBQ Lid and check after a minute or so. Once cheese starts to soften turn over sandwich. Done once the cheese is nice and soft. Serve with a salad and beverage. Enjoy!
