Cottage Cheese Pie

This is a family recipe and is great as a main course but tastes a bit like dessert. It's like having a pan full of cheese blintzes with one-tenth the work.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cup flour 1-1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk 3/4 cup milk
  • 500 grams dry cottage cheese , (filling)500 grams dry cottage cheese, (filling)
  • 2 eggs , (filling)2 eggs, (filling)
  • 2 tsp sugar , (filling)2 tsp sugar, (filling)
  • 2 tbsp butter , (filling)2 tbsp butter, (filling)
  • 1 pinch salt 1 pinch salt

Preparation

Make the dough. Cream butter, crisco, sugar, beaten eggs. Add milk, flour. Mix till smooth. Melt butter (filling). Mix filling together. Put half the dough in a greased 8x12 pan (or 8X8). Then add filling. Then add the remainder of the dough. Bake 30-45 mins in 350 degree oven. To serve: Cut and add sour cream and frozen strawberries in syrup.
