Easy Apple-Cranberry Crisp

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 4 cups apples , peeled, cored and chopped4 cups apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup fresh cranberries , optional3/4 cup fresh cranberries, optional
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts , optional3/4 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and 8x8 baking dish. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, oats, flour, and butter. Mix until it has the consistency of bread crumbs. In another bowl mix the apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cranberries and nuts. Mix until well coated. Place half of the crumb mixture in the baking dish. Then evenly spread the coated apples/cranberry mixture over the crumb mixture. Top off with the remaining crumb mixture. Bake 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
