I came up with this recipe for my son, Eric. He did not like the Nacho Dip that I normally make with salsa, so I decided to try something different that he might like. This is his "Football Dip". It's a hit with everyone who tries it. I've yet to make it & not have someone ask for the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg cream cheese 1 1pkg pkgcream cheese
- 1/3 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing 1/3 1/3cup cupMiracle whip salad dressing
- 1/3 cup sour cream 1/3 1/3cup cupsour cream
- 1 lb lean ground beef 1 1lb lblean ground beef
- 1/2 bottle Diana Sauce , (Gourmet Original)1/2 1/2bottle bottleDiana sauce, (Gourmet Original)
- 2 cups Canadian Cheddar Cheese 2 2cups cupsCanadian cheddar cheese
- 1 pkg nacho chips , scoop style1 1pkg pkgnacho chips, scoop style
Preparation
Cook hamburger at high heat in microwave for about 5-8 minutes - until cooked. Break up the hamburger with a potato masher after the first 3-4 min. so the meat cooks evenly & is easy to spread. Meanwhile, mix the Cream Cheese, Miracle Whip & Sour cream in a medium bowl until smooth. Place the cream cheese mixture in the bottom of a 9 or 10 inch pie dish. Once the hamburger is cooked, drain well & add 1/2 bottle Diana BBQ sauce. Mix well & pour over the cream cheese mixture. Place the shredded cheese on top of the hamburger & heat in 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes (until cheese is melted & heated through). Serve with your favorite nacho chips - the "scoop" type seem to work best.
