Macaroni & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups elbow macaroni 1-1/2 1-1/2cups cupselbow macaroni
- 3 tbsp butter 3 3tbsp tbspbutter
- 3 tbsp flour 3 3tbsp tbspflour
- 2 cups milk 2 2cups cupsmilk
- 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 1/2tsp tspsalt
- 1 pinch pepper 1 1pinch pinchpepper
- 1/4 cup minced onion 1/4 1/4cup cupminced onion
- 2 cups shredded cheese 2 2cups cupsshredded cheese
Preparation
Cook macaroni till tender. Drain. Melt butter, blend in flour. Add milk, cook & stir until thickened. Add salt, pepper, onion if using, & cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Mix sauce with macaroni & turn into 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Crush some soda biscuits, mix with a little melted butter and sprinkle on top of macaroni.
Bake at 350 for approx. 45 min.
