Oven Barbecued Spareribs

The basic recipe came from the 1987 Rotary Club Polio Plus Fundraiser Recipe Book. I made it many time on our boat and at home many time. Many of our friends use it also. I have updated over the years. Its the best dam bbq oven rib recipe there is. So I told. Valerie
Ingredients
- 3 lbs 3lbspork side ribs or spareribs
- 1 1lemonlemons, sliced
- 1 1oniononions, sliced
- 10 oz can 10oz cantomato soup
- 1/2 can 1/2canwater
- 1/2 can 1/2canwhite vinegar
- 2 tsp 2tspdry mustard
- 1/4 tsp 1/4tspcayenne pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp 1/2tspred pepper flakes, to taste
- 1/2 tsp 1/2tspgarlic powder
- 3/4 cup 3/4cupbrown sugar
Preparation
Cut spareribs into serving-size pieces. Place in roasting pan. Top each sparerib with a slice of lemon and onion, salt and pepper. Bake in 450 F oven for 1/2 hour. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl. Bake ribs in 450 F oven for 1/2 hour. Take ribs out of oven after a half hour. Pour out fat if required. Lower oven temperature to 375 F. Pour tomotoe soup ingredients over ribs and cover with tin foil cook for 3/4 to 1 hour. Basting often. Re-move foil cook for 1/2 hour till sauce is thick. Service with baked potatoe and veggies. A great quick and easy rib recipe.
