Poached Cardamon and Saffron Pears

  • 4 4pearpears
  • 2 cups 2cupscold water
  • 1/8 tsp 1/8tspstevia powder
  • 1 (4 cm) 1(4 cm)vanilla bean pod, split and scraped
  • 1 pinch 1pinchsaffron threads
  • 2 pods 2podscardamom
  • 1/2 1/2orangeoranges, juiced
  • 1 small 1smallpiece ginger, peeled
  • orange zest

1. Place pears, water, stevia, vanilla, saffron ginger, orange zest, cardamon pods, orange juice in a saucepan, bring to boil, then reduce heat. Cook and cover for 30 minutes or until pears are soft, turning pears occasionally. 2. Remove pears and simmer liquid until reduced to half. Drizzle over pear. 3. Serve immediately.
