Smoked Paprika Roast Pork

We make this roast quite often for Sunday night dinner. Its always a hit with both the adults and the kids!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp salt 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp oregano 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 2 limes zested 2 limes zested
  • 1 4-5 lb pork shoulder roast 1 4-5 lb pork shoulder roast

Preparation

Combine spices & Lime in Bowl. Rub into pork (allow to marinate in fridge for 6 hours or overnight). Pre-heat oven to 450 deg F. Put pork into large roasting pan, and allow to roast in oven for 20 min. Reduce heat to 350 deg f. (Tip if you want vegetables added to your roast, you can add incorporate the same rub as above to the veggies along with olive oil and lime juice from the two limes) Add the vegetables when heat is reduced. Cook for approx 2 /12 hours. Voila!
