Spicy Curried Beef

This is a yummy and simple recipe...everyone loves it... great for every day meals and also for company too.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp powdered coriander 1 tbsp powdered coriander
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp powdered cumin 1 tsp powdered cumin
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup onions , minced1 cup onions, minced
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 lb round steak , cut in narrow strips2 lb round steak, cut in narrow strips
  • 3 tbsp butter 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 bay leaves 2 bay leaves

Preparation

Mix first 6 ingredients to a paste; blend in vinegar. Add meat and toss until pieces are coated with spice mix. Cover and refrigerate 24 hours. Melt butter in frying pan; add meat and bay leaves. Cook over low heat until meat is tender - about 45 minutes; stir frequently. Remove cover for last 5 minutes. Serve over cooked rice.
