The award-winning Toronto writer (Fugitive Pieces) sets her new book in Canada and Egypt in the 1960s. At the core of the novel is a gripping love story involving a Canadian couple and a Polish emigrant. The story draws on historical moments such as the building of the Aswân Dam.
