5 tips to help you shop for your sweetheart this Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is the one holiday where you can get away with picking out gifts for your significant other that are secretly for you, too. Lingerie, chocolates and massage goodies are all meant to be shared, but there are plenty of other great gifts out there for couples who have given those gifts time and time again – and they need not break the bank, either.

Here's how to choose sweet and special budget-friendly gifts for your partner.

Choose gifts that you can use together
Valentine's Day is all about quality time! Whether it's a one-time-use item or something you'll revisit over and over, find items that are made for two.

Try something new together
Is there anyone else in the world you'd rather try something new with? Sample a new food or drink, or try out a new sport. Shared interests will keep you both engaged and excited.

Be thoughtful
Personalized gifts or items with this year's date on it are meaningful. Plus, they're items you'll both want to keep for a long time.

Find items you'll use right away
If you're buying a new set of dishes, put them to use and cook a romantic meal together. If you want to go out on a fancy date, buy your partner a new outfit.

Be adventurous!
You can't be too forward on February 14. It's a day that is meant to get you into the romantic spirit.
