I'm 65 years old. Is it possible to have a lasting relationship at my age or am I just fooling myself that I am in love again?

Of course you may be in love again -- and good for you! While we always want to listen to both our head and our heart on such matters, we can now also benefit from what scientific studies can teach us. The February issue of National Geographic magazine and its website present the stages of love and accompanying chemical reactions very well. What we experience can range from the euphoria of the earliest attraction we feel for another, through deepening affection and focus of energies, the bonding of commitment to one person and, if we choose wisely, the longer lasting attachment stage which may well see you through the balance of your days. The greatest emotional, relational and sexual satisfaction is reported in couples over 50, in committed relationships. So if your heart and head agree that this is someone worthy of your gift of love, embark on this next leg of your earthly journey with our blessings! Marion
