First Jacob, then Mexx, then Target announced bankruptcies and/or store liquidations. Now Jones New York has released a statement that it will close its 170 retail locations (36 of which are in Canada) and will discontinue its wholesale business. We visited the Jones New York Headquarters in the spring of 2014 to see the latest collection and interview talented Wendy Hirschberg Clurman about her role as JNY's fashion director. Sadly, the great collections that we saw were not a sign of health for the foundering brand. All retail locations are expected to close by the end of 2015. As of yet, no announcement has been made regarding the number of jobs that will be affected. These pieces from the brand (below), including a fun striped V-neck sweater and a gorgeous office-ready dress, are out this spring. Snag them before Jones New York closes up shop for good.
